Here are some pictures of our re-modeling project! I would have to say that working on your own house is a lot more fulfilling and when I get working I just don't want to stop. Our Kitchen has really been the major project for us. Jocie and I picked out the colors we wanted to re-finish the cabinets and so I cleaned and sanded them all off and put on the tinted lacquer. PINK! They were a very bright magenta! So we had to go get them darkened and instead of doing a two tone (upper cabinets a lighter red and the lower ones a darker red) I made the executive decision to just paint them all the darker red. And we love them. We also ripped out the island and the cabinets over the island making our kitchen very open. We removed the previous laminate countertops and replaced them with new "gun metal grey" laminate. They look great, and I'm so careful around them cause I don't want to scratch them. We also re-painted the living area a light taupe color that looks great with the white trim. I really wanted to get rid of the white brick fireplace, so I framed over the brick and put up drywall that we painted this golden rod yellowish color that we are slowly accenting with dark stained alder mantle and crown moulding that I'm making...

BUSy as many Bees...

Jocie and I have never been busier than the past couple of months! Of course there was the November and December Christmas rush with putting hours and hours in the shop and Jocie working so hard at both school and work! But then January and February came. The shop was slammed again with tons of orders for the St. George Parade of Homes and Jocie was working on her last weeks of School! YAY! On Top of that, Jocie, myself and Jocie's brother Brett were presented with an opportunity to buy a house! We have taken advantage of that and as of Feb 14th 2008, we became owners of a very large loan! We have some pictures of the "before" and as you can see the Popcorn ceilings and the golden oak kitchen cabinets were a clash to Jocie and I's style, so we've been remodeling and as soon as I can find Jocie's camera cord (lost in the move... bkah I hate moving) I will post more pic's. (The green carpet although, is something Jocie thinks is fantastic, so it will most likely stay until we can afford something else!!)
