St. George Thanksgiving

Once Jocie was finished with her "Black Friday" shift at Nordstrom, we took off to the great southern Utah. We met up with my family, who had been there since Wed, and had a great trip. I got to go biking with my three brothers for the first time in my life. We rode Bear Claw Poppy and I'll add pic's of it later.


There was a park across the street from where we were staying and it was really a cool park. It had kid and adult stuff to do. There was a rock wall for climbing, and crazy swings, and slides. It was probably the best park I've ever been to!

This is one of the crazy swings that was at that park. It was amazing and it would really send Jocie flying!



We hit up the new In-n-Out burger just outside of St. George and it was crazy busy! The drive through line went all the way around the restaurant! I snuck a sticker onto my nephew Mark's forehead and he sported their hat for about a second.

Scott and Jocie's October

Scott and Jocie have been super busy! Jocie is now employed at the new Enizio Salon in Lehi and she loves it. They do on-site work complete with make-up/hair and she loves the opportunity to use all her skills.


October, the best of month of the year, had us partying for my birthday. We went paintballing during the day and carved pumpkins and had dinner that night.

House Update!

We've had some requests to give an update on how our house is coming. Jocie and I haven't had too much $$$/time to work on our house lately, but the Labor Day holiday provided me with some time to work on smaller projects at my shop. I finished the crown molding on our fireplace and then trimmed out the fireplace opening. I also built and installed these killer custom bookshelves that we love! They look awesome and when we get rid of the light valances above the window and install our can lighting, they will look even better! What do you think of the bookshelves?

And here are our kitchen floors. They are a vinyl laminate that comes in planks like real wood floor and you cut to fit. They look great and provide a completely waterproof surface! We love the lighter color. Now we just need a backsplash!

A Great Day Date (and night dance ;) )

Jocie had Saturday off so we took full advantage of it. I had been wanting to attend the "Monet to Picasso" art exhibit at the U of U MOA. Jocie happened upon free VIP passes and so we made sure to use them. It was an awesome exhibit, displaying original artwork and explaining the transition from realism into the impressionistic period. It was really a good time.



My favorite painting was The Red Kerchief: Portrait of Camille Monet by Monet


and Jocie's favorite was Woman with Cape by Paublo Picasso (sorry it's so small.)


Granted, the colors and exactness of these paintings was different and the story behind them also assisted us in choosing these as our favorites.




We then went to, as all good dates should, the Rocky Mountain Raceway to watch Jocies cousin Tyler race. It was really fun watching his "Hornet" division race around the track. Tyler drives the black and white Ford Probe.


They even got into a fender bender!!

And I had never seen Figure 8 racing before but it got to be pretty intense!!

China Divers got Nothing on Us!!

All in all we had a great trip. We floated down the river twice and with the higher water flow, we didn't get too beat up. Travis kept falling off his tube, but we did pretty good. We also did attend Bingo Night on main street and I won 21 bucks!!! (and got the black lung from the chain smokers.)

Always busy.

Jocie and I can't believe that it is already August. We are both depressed as there were so many things that we wanted to do. Here are some of the highlights of the last two months-
Baby Bryce! Jocie and little bro Brett went to Colorado to support in the birth of our new little nephew Bryce.




They saw this sign at the D.I.A. (Denver International Airport for those of us that don't speak Colradoian) and they got a laugh at it...




I've been extremely busy at work. We have been doing a lot of framing that is amazing and i've even gotten a little oil painting in myself! My dad retired from BYU after 39 Years! 39! Wow. He said he wanted to get back in to fishing so Matt, Dad and I hit up Jordanelle and I caught two largemouth bass..

Well Jocie and I just got back from a very beautiful and fun vacation to what Jocie calls paradise. We rented a beach house with my brother Dave's family and my parents and spent the week loving life. We ate at our favorite restaurants, attended a Padres baseball game, spent a lot of time at the beach, and even were recruited to play softball for some local law firm!



This was our ride. We packed light since there was very little trunk space.

We attended a session and loved how beautiful it is inside.

This was at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in Old Town. Fish Tacos anyone?




We spent an afternoon on Coronado Island. We walked around the haunted Hotel del Coronado and loved spending time with the fam.




The sand on the beach is so fine you have to stroll through it barefoot.

This was Jocie's plate of Sushi that she split with our niece Irie. Irie had never had Sushi but was excited to try it. She loved it, and we all know how much Jocie loves it.. Just look at the pictures!

We found a bike shop, since I have bike buying fever, and I test rode this Giant and was very impressed. The geometry and the shock were amazing. Never would have thought that from a Giant. (Of course then the salesman had me ride a $4,000 Santa Cruz and I was blow away.. I'll just keep saving my pennies.)

Our Nephew Jaxon. I would get him to tell Jocie throughout the trip to hurry up or that we were leaving. He would just yell "Jocie, WE'RE LEAVING!!!" and that way I would get in trouble and everyone would just laugh.



And some highlights from our beach time. We built a Mermaid. Not a Merman, and yes she is holding her bottled water.

Green Green Grass of Home

I never thought Orem High was worth that much, but Mel informed me that I could get some free sod from there and so I did. I'm working on a good surface for future Croquet games so ya'll better be ready to bring your game!

The Need For Speed!

Last Saturday, I finally got myself out to the Miller Motorsports Racetrack. And I was blown away! I went with Dave, Matt, Andrea and all the kids and we met up with Carol and John and they got us into the back garage area. We set up a BBQ and an EZ-up and made the day of it! John and Carol keep a sweet Golf Cart up there and so they gave us ride around so we could watch the races from all different aspects. It was the American LeMans race which is the most anticipated race of the season. Corvette's on steroids, Ferrari's, Audi's, Porches, and they were hitting 170-200 mph! The video doesn't do it justice. I would recommend this to everyone! To those of you that had Mr. Cramer at Mountain View, this silver car is his second custom car. He hooked up with Johnny Boy Stahman and parked his car up there. It's pretty sweet too.

And right before we were to go home, we ran into the opportunity to go with the large group of Audi's and drive around the track! It was so cool to see the elevation changes in the track that I hadn't noticed from the sidelines.
